Facial thread veins
The pulse dye laser is very effective at treating facial thread veins, although small
veins at the side of the nose are tough. We use Cynosure's Cynergy
pulse dye laser. Laser treatment does not
stop new thread veins forming in the future. The laser emits a powerful yellow light that
is well absorbed by the red colour in the veins. As the light is absorbed it is
turned into heat and the veins are literally cooked. The flash of light is
so short that the heat does not have time to spread into your skin, and
because
there are no injections or scalpels scarring is most unlikely. Please
read our detailed advice sheet if you
are considering treatment and look at the pictures
of the bruising.
Rosacea
We recommend IPL treatment to help in the management of the redness
caused by rosacea.
Leg Veins
Micro sclerotherapy is still the first choice for thread veins on
the legs. Lasers may help if sclerotherapy is no longer of benefit.
Please read our detailed advice sheet if you are considering treating
your leg veins. We do not treat varicose veins. Varicose veins are ones
you can feel with your fingers when you are standing up.
